Compound Machine
A compound machine is a machine made up of 2 or more simple machines. Our machine that we made (pictured to the left) utilized three simple machines: pulley, gears, and wheel and axel.
We used a motor to turn a spool and pull the string over the pulley, that would turn the small gear, turning the big gear to turn the wheel and axel. Our design is a hightorque system utilizing a small gear turning a big gear, but this decreased our mechanical advanta. Which we tried to bring back up with a small axel turning a huge wheel.

Hydrogen Fuels Cell Boat
This Project was a design Challenege. The challenge was to build a boat propelled by a fan that utilized a hydrogen fuel cell and a solar panel. This idea was suppose to simulate a prototype of a new generation of air boats for the everglades. This design would be much quieter and self sufficient.
Our boat successfully floated on the water and our fuels cell and solar panel both powered the fan blade to spin However due to an unequally balanced craft our boat did not move in a straight line but instead spun in a circle. However the challenge was to achieve movemment with these alternative energy sources.
